Our New Clubhouse
Will the future of work exist solely within a single office space? We don't think so.
Since the pandemic, our team has doubled in size and taken on some great work with Honda, Rockstar Games, Walmart, and Traeger. And how do we get to work?
We invested in a clubhouse. (Yes, a clubhouse.)
Located in the flourishing West Side neighborhood of Grand Rapids, MI, our HQ is a new and inspired version of a co-working space.
The unassuming name "Clubhouse" is very intentional. This relaxed vibe better communicates and serves our vision. Not only do we want to create a laidback and attractive space for our team, we wanted a space that is more accessible for events and community engagement. We don’t require in-person attendance, just pre-set working hours that we call "Tempo hours," so our employees can work when and where they feel most inspired.
The team uses our space to build culture, hosting things like gaming and crafting nights – as well as a place to bring in clients, brainstorm in-person, and hold important meetings.
Stop on by if you're in the neighborhood. We promise there will be snacks.

CARNEVALE is building your future tech experiences
For advanced technology experiences, the world's biggest brands come to CARNEVALE
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – CARNEVALE, a Grand Rapids-based technology and user experience agency has put down new roots on the West Side intersection of Fulton and Deloney as they build the next-generation technology experiences not even on the market yet. Previously located downtown, CARNEVALE, like many companies, found that the future of work is better inspired by a new kind of work environment.
“Most of our clients are located around the country and around the world, so virtual meetings have always been the norm for us,” said Mike Carnevale, Creative Director. “We had a beautiful office before, but we found through the pandemic and after that the hybrid approach to work better embraced the kind of creative environment that this new clubhouse can support.”
As the team develops virtual reality worlds, gamified mobile apps, and touchscreen cooktops, you’ll now find couches, lounge area, and unassigned desks. Impressibly, the new space utilizes mostly the same furniture from the previous Steelcase and Custer-designed office. So, why call it a clubhouse?
“The Clubhouse name was very intentional because it better communicates and serves our vision. Not only do we want to create a relaxed and attractive space for our team - we don’t require in-person attendance, just pre-set working hours that we call Tempo hours - but we also want a space that is more accessible for events and community engagement,” said Mike.
In addition to the user experiences that CARNEVALE conceptualizes and builds for their clients, they also dedicate a significant effort to social impact partnerships with their Co/op Department. Some partnerships to date have been with WMCAT, Midwest Tech Project, The Diatribe, and The 49507 Project. Unlike many companies who donate based on financial success, CARNEVALE actively seeks no-cost/low-cost projects as part of their mission.
One such example is an ongoing project with the Universal Hip Hop Museum (UHHM) in New York City’s South Bronx neighborhood. The museum will be similarly opening a brand new physical space in 2024. In the interim and beyond, they wanted to better bring the museum experience to all in the virtual world with more accessibility and insights into the history of rap and hip-hop. With the help of CARNEVALE, you can now experience their exhibits in the metaverse.
“Working with CARNEVALE on our metaverse project has been a truly fantastic experience, said Rocky Bucano, Executive Director of the UHHM. “As the metaverse is new to everyone and takes on different meanings for different people, this has been a very collaborative and eye-opening project. The CARNEVALE team is a wonderfully diverse and supremely skilled group of people that makes it uniquely qualified to tackle cutting-edge projects such as ours targeting the Hip Hop generations in all incarnations. We look forward to working with CARNEVALE for many years to come!”
Since the pandemic, the CARNEVALE team has doubled in size as companies like Honda, Rockstar Games, Walmart, Traeger, and more work with them to build the future.
Mike says, “We believe what we’ve done with the Clubhouse is the future of work. Somewhere that a team can enjoy and collaborate when they need a change of scenery, a place that gives the business credibility and is tangible for clients to experience, and a space that can better create relationships with our community through events, demos, and student workshops.”
As they explore technologies that are beyond the horizon, their new clubhouse better addresses today's relationship with work where virtual and in-person experiences intersect.
